As above, so below

Connections. Concentric circles connected. Unique prehistoric petroglyph  pecked in a basalt surface near much older image and passionate dots. Specs of green and orange lichen enhance the presentation. Hiking here is a banquet to the observant person.  Adding an artistic touch to the commonplace. My themes: Prehistory and Natural History. “I go to Nature to be soothed and healed, and to have my senses put in order.” John Burroughs 1837 - 1921.

Blue Flag

Wild Iris. AKA the “Blue Flag,” native wildflower is now growing in every drainage that sheds moisture from the San Francisco Peaks. Its another harbinger of the season, predictable and constant. Its also a way to know if you live in a flood zone beneath the mountain. Hiking here is a banquet to the observant person.  Adding an artistic touch to the commonplace. My themes: Prehistory and Natural History. “I go to Nature to be soothed and healed, and to have my senses put in order.” John Burroughs 1837 - 1921.

My themes: Prehistory and Natural History. “I go to Nature to be soothed and healed, and to have my senses put in order.” John Burroughs 1837 - 1921.

Here's Looking at You, Kid!

When the Forest Watches You! Dead and dying trees in the forest take on personalities that feed my imagination as they pass through the stages of death and recycle. Am I ever walking alone?. Hiking and biking here is a banquet to the observant person.  Adding an artistic touch to the commonplace. My themes: Prehistory and Natural History. “I go to Nature to be soothed and healed, and to have my senses put in order.” John Burroughs 1837 - 1921.

Microclimate niche in Nature.

Rock Garden. Small ferns, local native plant, thriving within this basalt stone microclimate. Often observed within these shaded crevices in our volcanic canyons. Unexpected.
